Radionuclide Radiology

The training scheme has approved posts to train one or two Year 5 Registrars in Radionuclide Radiology.  The posts are of 12 months duration.  They are based at RUH Bath, but with attachments to Southmead Hospital, and to Cheltenham.  The full range of radionuclide examinations are learnt, including cardiac and PET scanning.

Exit appraisal is conducted jointly by both Royal College of Radiologists and Royal College of Physicians Assessors;  the training counts as the first half of the two years experience required to attain a joint CCT in Diagnostic Radiology and Radionuclide Medicine.

The tutors in charge of the programme are Dr Mike Darby at Southmead Hospital and Dr Stewart Redman at RUH Bath.  Anyone interested in pursuing sub-speciality expertise in radionuclide radiology should contact them.
